Surfside Sips Glass Straws

Here at the Lagoon, we like to minimize the number of plastic straws we use. Additionally, we really love decorating our drinks with the coolest in drinkware!

One day, while tripping through the Interwebs, we came across pictures of these wicked cool glass straws, by the fine folks at Surfside Sips (surfsidesips.com). We literally had to study each and every image, searching for the perfect additions to our home life.

The set of three bamboo straws was a no-brainer—we can each have one and still have an extra-cool extra lightly-bent glass bamboo straw for a guest. But how could we possible stop there? Honestly, we couldn’t. Mr. Lagoon has always been partial to octopi—they’re brilliant little alien beasties who can drag themselves out of their natural element, across a room, into another tank, JUST to hunt for more interesting foodstuffs! We don’t even like to see them on restaurant menus—we don’t like the thought off killing and eating something that smart. Surfside Sips has this amazing little octopus straw, as if the little guy is crawling up the straw. Done! Wait ‘til you see the detail in this little guy!

Then we came across the turtle straws. There’s a special place in both our hearts for turtles. Based on a number of interactions with them, they’ve come to symbolize something special in our relationship. Perhaps the coolest such interaction was when a bunch of Hawaiian green sea turtles swam up onto the very beach we were eloping to on our wedding day, back on da Big Island. Needless to say, we needed two of these straws, so we could both drink at the same time.

The order was perfect, and the delivery was fast and safe. Now, Mrs Lagoon wants an octopus for herself, and we’ve been eyeballing a bunch of the other items on their page. You’d best place your orders before we buy the best ones!

Oh, and of course, Mrs. Lagoon isn’t allowed to use the vintage Batman tumbler for any other purpose than holding these fantastic straws!
